The Blockchain is a public distributed ledger that is a continuously growing list of records. Blockchain records transactions between parties and is comprised of blocks that are connected together through a cryptographic hash signature. Whenever a block capacity is reached, a new block is created on the chain. Once this data is recorded the data in the block cannot be altered without the alteration of all previous blocks, requiring the consensus of network marjory.
